Job hunting and applying to jobs is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. This is especially true nowadays as only 18% of graduates are securing jobs as the job market has become increasingly hypercompetitive. However, you shouldn’t let this dissuade you, as you won’t really get anywhere by not trying. Luckily, you don’t have to do all of this on your own. Remember that you can always count on your friends for a little bit of help.

Help, in this case, doesn’t have to be limited to moral support as you and your friends can actually take a more active role when it comes to helping each other land a job. Now, you may be wondering how to go about doing this. To help you get started, we’ve prepared a list of three effective ways you and your friends can aid each other with job hunting. Hopefully, this list proves to be useful when it comes to helping you land the job that you’ve always been gunning for.

Promoting Your Work

The easiest way you and your friends can help each other out is by sharing each other’s work. While this may seem trivial, this will go a long way when it comes to expanding your reach. The more exposure your work gets the more likely it is for you to find potential clients that are in need of your specific skill set. This is especially true if your friends have a lot of connections with people in the industry that you want to work in.

Conduct Mock Interviews

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that interviews are one of the most intimidating parts of the job hunting process. Considering how important it is for you to get this part right, you’ll want to do all you can to ensure that your interview goes well. The only way to get good at interviews is through practice. And while you can opt to apply to a bunch of jobs so you can work on your interview skills, you can simply conduct mock interviews with your friends. Despite not being exactly like the real thing, these mock interviews should go a long way when it comes to preparing you for any upcoming job interviews. At the very least, practising will make you significantly less nervous and will help you navigate any questions that get thrown your way.

Attend Events Together

Lastly, you and your friends can accompany each other to events that will help you land a job. It can be rather daunting to attend networking events and job fairs all by yourself. Instead of going at it alone, why not bring your friends along so you’ll have someone to keep you company. Who knows, they may even come home from the event with job opportunities of their own.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are a slew of different ways you and your friends can help each other out. It’s important to note that there are other ways that your friends can help that we didn’t include in this list. Remember, this list is only meant to help you get started and is in no way meant to limit how you and your friends help each other out.
