Volunteering with Guide Dogs can help people develop skills which are transferrable into the workplace, for example roles within our fundraising groups allow volunteers to use and build upon their organisational skills leading on events, coordinating their fellow volunteers and using their communication skills to spread the word about Guide Dogs. Training is provided for all volunteer roles, including our bespoke world-class training programme for volunteers working with our dogs – which might be of interest to those seeking a future career in dog handling. We also cover reasonable expenses. Volunteering with us gives people an opportunity to learn more about Guide Dogs, should they be looking for a paid role within the organisation, and registered volunteers are also eligible to apply for internal job vacancies.”
These are various such as Fosterer - Do in early training, Puppy Raiser and Fundraising roles.
