Live jobs, courses and apprenticeships from our Jobs Board — a gold badge means you can meet that employer at one of our fairs. Apply early, or say hello on the day.
No risk, book with confidence
Explore hiring in this areaPost your jobs, courses and apprenticeships once — they work everywhere we do: on our national Jobs Board, broadcast to Google Jobs, and highlighted to the candidates coming to this event — for 12 months, at no extra cost.
Here are a few — every event is built to put your brand in front of people actively looking for something new.
Our London events are priced separately due to significantly higher venue and operational costs, alongside the increased scale and reach they offer. Exhibiting in London provides access to one of the UK's largest and most diverse candidate markets, making it a premium location within our event network.
The highest level of visibility available — activated from the point of booking once all relevant information has been received.

Location guide / North East
Durham’s university and historic centre give it a recognisable city life within a much larger county. The wider employment map includes science and technology sites such as NETPark in Sedgefield. That distinction matters when reading rent figures, searching for work or deciding whether a home in the city makes sense.

Know the areaThis guide distinguishes Durham city from County Durham. The ONS rent figure covers the whole county authority and is not a Durham-city estimate.

Whole statistical area, not necessarily the town boundary.Employment rate, age 16–64: 72.2% · County Durham · Jul 2025-Jun 2026. Survey estimate; local results can be volatile.
Area averages are not current asking prices or individual property valuations. Local short-term changes are volatile; use a year or longer. UK HPI house-price observations are provisional and subject to revision.
Durham University is an important institution to research alongside city-centre service and visitor-facing work. Business Durham describes a wider county economy with science, technology, engineering and digital activity. Its NETPark site is in Sedgefield, not Durham city, and includes specialist laboratory, office and manufacturing facilities.
Durham University and CPI are among the organisations in that wider research economy. Ask exhibitors for the actual work base, any travel between sites, qualifications and training routes. A role labelled County Durham may require a very different daily journey from a job in the historic centre.
Compare a home in or near the city centre with places nearer the employer only after testing your daily journeys. The centre's university and visitor activity shapes its feel, while a location elsewhere in the county creates another routine. Inspect the exact street, services and transport options rather than relying on a broad area label.
The official rent figure shown alongside covers County Durham. It combines property types across a large authority and is not an estimate for a Durham-city rental. Use current like-for-like local listings, adding Council Tax, utilities, broadband, travel and moving costs.
Travel North East's regional service combines information for buses, Metro, local rail and the Shields Ferry across County Durham, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland. Use the planner for Durham's relevant bus and rail options; the regional branding does not mean every mode serves the city.
The historic centre has cobbled streets and changes in level, so include the final walk when assessing a route. Test the homeward trip and weekend times if your work involves shifts. For an out-of-city science or business site, check the full connection and ask the employer about staff transport or parking.
Durham's official visitor guide highlights the cathedral and castle World Heritage Site, riverside walks, galleries, museums and the Gala Theatre. The university's Oriental Museum adds another cultural option beyond the landmark centre.
Use a viewing visit to explore everyday life too: groceries, a library, exercise or a community activity. A place that is appealing for a day trip may feel different during term time or a busy event, so revisit shortlisted streets when possible. Check current programmes and opening times before planning an outing.
Durham County Council provides Council Tax, local housing advice, schools and waste services. Confirm arrangements for the property and any parking requirements, particularly if your search includes the city centre and surrounding towns.
Use NHS guidance for GP registration. For a family move, check childcare and school arrangements before committing, including the effect of the full work commute. Keep employment and tenancy documents accessible and leave a first-month contingency for setup and travel.
We use official local authorities, transport operators, public data and destination organisations. Data periods are shown alongside figures. Employer examples describe the local economy; they are not a promise of vacancies or attendance at the fair.
Next editorial review due 3 December 2026. Prices, services and availability can change before then.

Tell candidates what the work involves, what support you offer and which skills can be learned on the job. A conversation at your stand gives both sides room to ask questions.
