Reading advertised pay.

The source, classification and limits of our November 2026 Jobs Board salary analysis.

Salary snapshot: 3 November 2026, 21:38:37 UTC

A defined snapshot of advertised pay

The UK Careers Fair operates the Jobs Board analysed here and has a commercial interest in it. This analysis uses live, unexpired adverts observed on 3 November 2026. It is not a representative survey of UK wages, vacancies or hiring outcomes. No contact details or customer financial records are published.

The salary audit

At 21:38:37 UTC, the board contained 787 live, unexpired listings from 189 employer accounts: 698 jobs, 25 apprenticeships, 55 courses and nine other opportunities. “Live” means the listing is live and has no expiry or an expiry after the snapshot. These are adverts, not verified positions or hires. Employer totals by listing type overlap.

Among the 698 job-type adverts, 612 have a positive structured lower pay bound and 631 have a numeric GBP pay display. Those are different tests. A unit-aware initial classification produces 331 hourly and 274 annual adverts, with 93 outside those two cohorts:

ClassificationJob adverts
commission3
hour331
invalid descending range3
no positive structured lower pay63
other or missing pay unit3
voluntary or volunteer-labelled21
year274

The exclusions are applied in order: voluntary or volunteer-labelled, commission, absent positive lower bound, descending range, then other or missing unit. The two remaining cohorts are not proof that every pay entry is accurate. For example, unusually low annual figures remain and need verification. The analysis publishes no pooled median, annualised hourly wage, full-time equivalent pay gap or comparison of advertised pay with actual ONS earnings.

The advertised lower and upper bounds describe offers, not earned wages. Employment type is supplied by the advertiser and does not establish contracted hours. Multi-opening adverts count once; unverified stated openings are not used as weights. ONS comparisons in the articles retain the definitions and reference periods of the official series.
