Sourcing Work-From-Home Opportunities

As remote work remains ever popular, many job seekers are exploring the possibility of getting a job which allows them to work from home. The trend of remote working was rapidly accelerated by the sudden and often obligatory changes in work patterns due to the recent pandemic. As remote work remains ever popular, many job seekers are exploring the possibility of getting a job which allows them to work from home. The trend of remote working was rapidly accelerated by the sudden and often obligatory changes in work patterns due to the recent pandemic. It certainly has its obvious attractions with the main factors appealing to those who seek a better work life balance or those who prefer the flexibility that remote work brings.

So, if you are focused upon securing a job which gives you the option to work from home then you should be starting your job search by initially using the more popular and well known websites. These platforms will allow you to filter job listings based on your criteria which will include remote working. Be certain to set the appropriate filters for your search highlighting that you want remote working. You can also use the filters to narrow down other specifications such as location, salary and the type of work as well as how often you want to be notified about appropriate vacancies that have become available. The more specific you are, the easier it will be to find relevant opportunities.

Sometimes companies do offer remote working options but the words remote or working from home may not be in their job listings. Do check thoroughly the vacancies pages on the websites of any specific companies that you are interested in working for as it is usually mentioned in the actual job description rather than the title.

You can never underestimate the power of networking when job seeking. Therefore, use professional networking platforms to connect with potential employers and specific industries of interest. Networking can help you to both discover hidden job opportunities and to gain insights into companies who offer remote positions.

There are several major freelancing platforms that provide opportunities for individuals to offer their services on a remote basis. If you have specialised skills then this could be a lucrative way to earn a living.

Make sure that your LinkedIn profile is up to date and highlights your skills and experience, emphasising your interest in remote work. Many recruiters will actually actively search on LinkedIn for potential candidates so a well optimised profile can increase your visibility. If you don’t have a LinkedIn profile, consider getting one. There are several established and successful online communities and forums who will share job listings with the focus on remote working and can offer invaluable guidance and advice.

Be patient yet persistent in your remote job search. Be diligent in your applications and queries and despite any challenges or setbacks, stay positive. Remote opportunities are available but you must be consistent and proactive in your search. Use as many online job search platforms as you can as well as networking with professionals and exploring industry specific opportunities to increase your chances of securing a fulfilling role from the comfort of your own home!
