Live jobs, courses and apprenticeships from our Jobs Board — a gold badge means you can meet that employer at one of our fairs. Apply early, or say hello on the day.
No risk, book with confidence
Explore hiring in this areaPost your jobs, courses and apprenticeships once — they work everywhere we do: on our national Jobs Board, broadcast to Google Jobs, and highlighted to the candidates coming to this event — for 12 months, at no extra cost.
Here are a few — every event is built to put your brand in front of people actively looking for something new.
Our London events are priced separately due to significantly higher venue and operational costs, alongside the increased scale and reach they offer. Exhibiting in London provides access to one of the UK's largest and most diverse candidate markets, making it a premium location within our event network.
The highest level of visibility available — activated from the point of booking once all relevant information has been received.

Carlisle’s station and historic centre serve a city with manufacturing and further-education employment. The distinction between Carlisle and the much larger Cumberland authority matters when reading housing figures or choosing a home. Central streets, employment sites and surrounding villages each require a separate look at daily travel.

Area averages are not current asking prices or individual property valuations. Local short-term changes are volatile; use a year or longer. UK HPI house-price observations are provisional and subject to revision.
Pirelli's Carlisle operation is a concrete example of the city's manufacturing base, with its own careers material describing maintenance, automation and production work. Research it as an employer example, not a promise of an available role. Ask about the workplace, shift pattern and qualifications before comparing an industrial job with a central office role.
Carlisle College offers apprenticeship routes combining employment and study. For a career change, discuss entry requirements and how college attendance fits work. The proposed University of Cumbria city-centre campus took another planning and funding step in September 2026; it remains a development project, so do not treat future facilities or projected opportunities as already available.
Start by comparing homes near the station and historic centre with addresses farther from central shops and transport. Central convenience may come with evening activity or limited parking; an outer address may mean a longer final leg to work. Inspect the actual street, rather than relying on a city-wide label.
The official rent figure shown alongside covers Cumberland. This all-property figure includes a large area outside Carlisle and is not a quote for a particular home. Compare current listings of the same size, then add Council Tax, heating, broadband, transport and the cost of moving.
Carlisle railway station is at Court Square. Cumberland's bus-stop directory identifies the bus station on Lonsdale Street and central stops including Lowther Street. Check the departure point for your particular service; arriving at one hub does not complete the journey to another or to the fair venue.
A central routine may allow more walking, while a factory, business park or rural workplace needs its own route test. Plan both outward and return travel for your actual hours, including weekends. Use live rail and bus information, and confirm any assistance or accessibility arrangements with the operator before travelling.
Tullie sits in the historic quarter between the castle and cathedral. Parts of the museum are closed for redevelopment; the museum says its transformed galleries are intended to reopen in summer 2027. Check the current programme before planning a visit.
Bitts Park offers formal gardens, riverside paths, running routes and recreation facilities. It is a useful contrast to the central shopping streets. Explore a weekday route you could repeat after work, then look for a regular club, class or volunteering activity that fits your timetable.
Confirm Council Tax, waste collections, parking arrangements and school admissions through Cumberland Council. Check the address and local service area carefully if your home search extends towards the border or into neighbouring council areas. For childcare, establish available places and collection times before accepting a shift pattern.
Use NHS guidance for GP registration. Keep your tenancy, employment offer and moving records together, and organise meter readings and household accounts at handover. A trial run combining work, groceries and any caring responsibilities can reveal practical costs that a rent comparison misses.
We use official local authorities, transport operators, public data and destination organisations. Data periods are shown alongside figures. Employer examples describe the local economy; they are not a promise of vacancies or attendance at the fair.
Next editorial review due 3 December 2026. Prices, services and availability can change before then.

Tell candidates what the work involves, what support you offer and which skills can be learned on the job. A conversation at your stand gives both sides room to ask questions.
