Cygnet

Cygnet is a leading provider of mental health and social care services for adults and children in the UK. Our network of award-winning hospitals and community-based services offer a range of specialist care pathways tailored to individual needs. We put those in our care at the heart of all we do, working together to support every person to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.

Our purpose is to make a positive difference to the lives of the individuals we care for, their loved ones and all those who work with us.

Our vision is to provide high quality, sustainable specialist services that: Ensure service users and residents feel safe and supported, staff are proud of, commissioners and service users select, and stakeholders trust.

Our mission is to work together in a positive culture of openness, honesty and inclusivity, where we deliver safe, compassionate, quality care for our service users and staff enjoy a fulfilling, rewarding environment in which to work.

Our values are to care for our service users, staff and visitors, to respect them, to ensure a bond of trust is built among us, to at all times empower those we look after as well as our staff, to deliver quality services with integrity.

At Cygnet we are doing all we can to make a positive difference to the lives of the people who form the Cygnet community. To help guide us and make sure we are all working together to achieve this we have identified five values that are at the core of what we do as individuals and as an organisation.

As a national care provider, with a network of professional, high-quality services across the UK, we are able to offer solutions and work in partnership with the NHS, ICBs and local authorities to provide much-needed services including emergency and planned admissions, as well as community-based care.

Our Care Pathways
Cygnet’s integrated care pathways are designed to provide seamless, person-centred care from crisis to community re-integration. These pathways allow service users to progress through less restrictive care settings, such as medium secure services to low secure or specialist step-down rehabilitation services, based on their individual needs and progress.

Cygnet is committed to being an essential partner in recovery pathways for mental health and social care, focusing on evidence-based treatment, service user involvement, and partnership with families and carers to achieve positive, long-term outcomes.

Our priority is always the individuals we care for. Wherever possible we support commissioners to find care as close to home as possible and provide pathways to support people back into the community.

Cygnet services allow the NHS to increase patient choice and improve access to care closer to home.

We’re proud of genuinely leading in service user involvement and being focused on proven clinical outcomes driven by the extensive therapeutic programmes in all of our hospitals.

Our award-winning social care services provide homes across the UK for people who are able to enjoy fulfilling lives according to their own individual needs and personalised care plans.

Our expert and highly dedicated care team of more than 13,000 employees support almost 8,650 individuals each year across 167 services to consistently make a positive difference to their lives.

We maintain a good relationship with our quality regulators and undergo regular inspections, with 84% of our health care services rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’.

Our Clinical Vision
Cygnet’s aim is to provide the highest quality care to our Service Users and Residents at all times, regardless of where they are in their care pathway.

We are committed to providing the highest quality and most effective care possible.

We aim to achieve this through our highly trained and motivated staff working in partnership with Service Users, Residents, their friends and relatives, our Commissioners, and Regulatory Bodies.
