An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Domestic Supervisor to join our Facilities Team at Monkwearmouth hospital!
This post will be offered at 30 hours per week and working Monday to Sunday, 7.5hrs per day on a 3 week rota alongside current supervisors. Job share opportunities are also available.
We also pay 25% enhancement, time and a quarter, on hours worked during a Saturday and Sunday 🤗
This is an important role responsible for domestic services on site, helping to create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors. You will play a key part in ensuring high standards of cleanliness are consistently delivered across wards and departments.
You’ll work closely with your team, providing day-to-day supervision, support and training. You’ll also build strong relationships to resolve issues, respond to feedback and continuously improve the service.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in maintaining high standards and can manage a busy workload. You’ll need to be organised, proactive and confident in working with a wide range of people, while supporting your team to deliver a reliable and high-quality cleaning service.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for day-to-day supervision of a team of Soft FM staff
Provide advice and support to all wards and departments on an identified site. Dealing with ward and departmental managers to ensure an affective Soft FM service is provided.
Support Assistant and Site Manager with team briefs.
Ensure that effective, efficient lines of communication and good relationships are maintained within the department and with all other service users.
Provide and receive information to manage own job and communicate with on all aspects of hygiene and cleanliness.
Liaise with other Supervisors within the Company.
As a supervisor you may be expected to supervise other areas of facilities

Skills and Knowledge | Essential criteria
Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, manual handling and risk assessments
Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and hygiene standards
Ability to lead and support a team effectively
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to organise workloads and prioritise tasks
Basic IT skills for records and communication
Experience | Essential criteria
Experience working with a wide range of staff and service users
