Assistant Site Manager

We're looking for an Assistant Site Manager to join us at Carleton Clinic, Carlisle!

You’ll support the Site Manager to deliver high-quality facilities services on site,
helping to make sure everything runs smoothly for Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne
and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW). You’ll play a key part in maintaining high
standards, ensuring services are delivered to specification and meet all safety and
legal requirements.

No two days are the same. Each site provides a wide range of services, making this
a varied and interesting role. You’ll help oversee domestic services, catering and
cafés, portering, transport, waste, switchboard, reception areas, laundry and linen,
and stores. Alongside supporting service delivery and quality improvement, you’ll
also help resolve day-to-day issues and support teams as challenges arise.

As Assistant Site Manager, you’ll help co-ordinate our facilities teams and make sure
staffing and services are well planned so patients, staff and visitors receive a
reliable, high-quality service. When the Site Manager is away, you’ll step in as their
deputy, providing leadership and support to teams and helping to keep essential
services running confidently and safely.

Person specification | Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria

In-depth knowledge of Food Hygiene Legislation, Health and Safety, COSHH and Risk Assessment is required. A practical and in-depth appreciation of Hazard Analysis/Risk Assessments

Good communication skills for dealing with staff, patients and public

High level of literacy and numeracy skills

Report writing and verbal communication skills

Good general IT skills (Word, Excel & Power Point)

Experience
Essential criteria

Experience working within a facilities service

Experience of managing soft FM services and working in compliance with health and safety legislation in relation to Facilities services

Experience in managing staff groups and teams

Essential criteria

Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) in a Facilities Management subject or an equivalent technical qualification in a related field.

Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate or Diploma or will be required to obtain one within first 6 months of appointment

All jobs will be appointed on the NTW Solutions Limited terms and conditions and not NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions. New starters who are not in the NHS Pension already will be enrolled into a NEST pension.
