Our telephone befriending service supports individuals who are housebound and experiencing social isolation. Just a short, friendly call each week can make the world of difference, helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation and increase a sense of connection and wellbeing.
Role requirements:
make a short call to a befriendee, usually once a week but the frequency and duration of calls is entirely up to you and your befriendee
check-in that their needs are being met and focus conversations on improving their sense of wellbeing e.g. happy memories, interests, things going well in their life and raising any welfare or safeguarding concerns β share as well as listen.
