We're looking for someone to join our Warwick Trident team as an Attendance Officer on a permanent, full time, term time only basis in this new exciting role as part of WCG Drive. This is a 14-16 Direct Entry Provision at our Trident College campus from September 2026. Students studying here will study 3 core GCSEs plus a Level 1 or 2 qualification in either Engineering or Motor Vehicle.
This role is pro rata, so the salary you will be receiving is £24,138.89 per year. For any roles that start part way through the Academic year, the annual salary will be pro rata to the remaining months.

BACKGROUND TO POST
We are seeking a dedicated, organised and compassionate School Attendance Officer to join our supportive and committed team.This is an important and rewarding role, with the successful candidate playing a key part in helping our pupils achieve excellent attendance and punctuality and, in turn, ensuring they have the best possible opportunity to thrive in school. You will build positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers, school staff and external agencies, working collaboratively to promote a strong culture of attendance across the school.
You will be responsible for monitoring and analysing attendance data, identifying patterns and emerging concerns, and following up promptly on absences. Where attendance difficulties arise, you will work sensitively with pupils and families to understand the barriers they may be facing and provide appropriate support and guidance.Taking a proactive and solution-focused approach, you will work with colleagues, families and relevant external agencies to develop effective strategies that improve attendance, engagement and outcomes for our pupils.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
✓Monitor daily pupil attendance and punctuality.
✓Follow up unexplained absences with parents and carers.
✓Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records.
✓Identify patterns of absence, lateness and persistent absence.
✓Contact and meet with parents/carers to discuss attendance concerns and agree appropriate support.
✓Work closely with pupils, pastoral staff, safeguarding teams and senior leaders to improve attendance.
✓Prepare attendance reports and provide accurate data to relevant staff.
✓Support the development and implementation of attendance improvement plans.
✓Liaise with external agencies and professionals where appropriate.
✓Ensure attendance procedures comply with relevant legislation, school policies and safeguarding requirements.
✓Promote the importance of regular attendance and punctuality throughout the school community.
Essential Attainments
1. Educated to a full Level 3
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
3. Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
