BACKGROUND TO THE POST
We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Payroll and People Services Administrator to join our team. This dual-focused role plays a vital part in our day-to-day operations by managing the day-to-day administration of our salary sacrifice schemes in support of the Payroll team, while also providing general administrative support across our Recruitment and People Services functions.
Our ideal candidate will have worked within a similar role, and be happy to flex working across Payroll, Recruitment and People Services (HR) as needed. You will be a positive, self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Your strong numerical and organisational skills, and excellent customer service will be key in supporting our team.
We need someone with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. This will be needed to communicate effectively with staff, agencies, other organisations and members of the public.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Salary Sacrifice & Payroll Administrative Support
β Scheme Administration: Act as the main point of contact for employee salary sacrifice schemes (e.g., Cycle to Work, EV schemes, Childcare vouchers).
β Data & Approvals: Process, verify, and track new salary sacrifice applications, ensuring eligibility, correct documentation, and compliance with statutory rules (e.g., National Minimum Wage checks).
β Payroll Records: Maintain and update salary deduction records and prepare accurate monthly reporting feeds for the Payroll team ahead of processing deadlines.
β Vendor Coordination: Liaise with third-party scheme providers to ensure smooth setup, timely delivery of benefits, and accurate invoicing reconciliation.
β Employee Queries: Respond to day-to-day employee inquiries regarding salary sacrifice options, net pay impacts, and scheme terms.
β General Payroll Support: Support the Payroll team with general payroll queries and administration
2. Recruitment Support
β Recruitment Support: Support the management of our Recruitment inbox
β Assist with the creation of job descriptions
β Social Media advertising, including the use of Canva
β Shortlisting & Interview Packs: Support the creation of packs associated with our recruitment process
3. People Services (General HR) Support
β Employee Lifecycle Admin: Support the management of our HR inbox and general HR queries. This will include, creation of staff ID badges, internal post, references and maintaining our HR system.
β Offboarding Admin: Help coordinate leaver processes, including exit surveys and HR system updates.
In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

Essential
β GCSE qualification in English and Maths or Level 2 equivalent, at grade C or above
β Proven administrative experience in a busy HR or Payroll support role
β High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail, especially when handling numerical data and payroll inputs
β Proficiency with IT systems (including HR, Canva, Brandwatch, etc) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace (particularly Excel/Sheets)
β Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset
β Ability to handle sensitive and confidential personal data with absolute discretion
