We're looking for someone to help us keep our hospital sites at Northgate Park, Morpeth in tip-top condition! You'll carry out a range of joinery and carpentry work, helping to create safe, welcoming and well-maintained environments for our patients, staff and visitors.
Our Joiners carry out a wide range of tasks across an extensive and diverse estate.
Our buildings are used to provide NHS services so you’ll need to work to a high
standard and safety is paramount.
What you do will make a direct difference to support better care and will benefit
patients, staff, and visitors. There’s a real variety in the job too working from top to
bottom on our buildings, from flooring to roof repairs.
You’ll work with other teams within Estates and across the company and CNTW to
carry out installation and maintenance tasks and complete inspections and
rectification work.
If you have a Joinery/ carpentry NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience, we'd love to hear from you!

The post holder will have experience in service, maintenance, and repair of a range of building installations and equipment
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
The post holder must be able to read and interpret technical drawings
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood pieces according to specifications
Perform repairs or modifications on existing wooden structures as needed
Proficient in using power tools and hand tools for woodworking
Strong knowledge of joinery techniques and woodworking principles
Skilled in painting or finishing wood surfaces
Undertake frequent and occasionally strenuous activities such as lifting of doors, windows, movement of plant and materials, and manual digging
Must demonstrate good understanding of health & safety
Experience and understanding of other trade specialisms
Ability to work in confined spaces as well as at height and in other challenging environments
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to justify decisions and responsibility for actions
Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
The post holder must have completed a recognised and registered indentured apprenticeship, with a City and Guilds Carpentry and Joinery certificate/ NVQ level 2/ level 3 or equivalent.
All jobs will be appointed on the NTW Solutions Limited terms and conditions and not NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions. New starters who are not in the NHS Pension already will be enrolled into a NEST pension.
