Due to increasing demands, Remada Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Geo-Science Technician to join us at our Henley in Arden office and work on contaminated land,
remediation, construction and development projects across the UK. You will have the
opportunity to work on a wide range of geo-environmental investigation and remediation
projects as well the early stages of construction. We are now looking for someone who is
proactive in their approach to work, capable of working with minimum supervision and who
wants to share in our enthusiasm and determination to support our important client-base.
General/ Technical:
• Working to Remada and client specific health, safety and environmental standards;
• Predominantly field based on a range of sites;
• Work in both the office and on-site;
• Work regularly outdoors in all weather conditions and be flexible and self-motivated;
• Ability to work to documented field procedures and recognise instrumentation or QA/QC issues in the field;
• Enthusiasm to learn and develop.
Field work preparation & planning including:
• Preparing health and safety documentation and undertaking risk assessments;
• Organising equipment and consumables for site works;
• Gather data from soil, groundwater, ground gas sampling, for use in scientific reports;
• Sample soils, groundwater, surface water for analysis;
• Log soils from boreholes and trial pits;
• Carry out CBR and Plate Bearing tests;
• Schedule soil and water samples for analysis;
• Obtain core samples using hand-held equipment;
• Be able to identify technical problems on site and understand how overcome constraints;
• Keep accurate records of site observations and data;
• Prepare drawings of site records and sample locations;
• Gather samples and / or data from soil, groundwater, ground gas and soil vapour sampling for use by our consultants in the preparation of scientific and engineering reports.
Minimum Requirements
• Right to live and work in the UK;
• Experience in ground investigation and/or remediation techniques and/or general construction;
• Competent with Microsoft Office for Email, Word and Excel;
• Full clean driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months;
• CSCS Card or equivalent;
• First Aid Training desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
• At least one Science A Level Grade C+ / BTEC in an environmental science discipline
desirable but not essential depending on experience
