Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (3 to 4 days per week)

Role Type: Part-Time / Rotational Day Shifts
Sandford House provides high-quality, compassionate care and support for 32 individuals living with mental health conditions. We are seeking a reliable and skilled Cook to work in our kitchen, preparing delicious, wholesome, home-cooked meals that promote the health and well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Preparation: Plan and cook home-made, nutritious meals daily for 32 residents, covering both lunch and tea.
Special Diets: Cater to specific dietary requirements, allergies, and individual resident preferences with care and creativity.
Ordering & Stock Control: Place weekly food orders, manage stock rotation , control kitchen waste, and stay within budgeted guidelines.
Hygiene & Safety: Maintain exceptional standards of food safety, kitchen cleanliness, and record-keeping in line with Safer Food and CQC standards.
Resident Focus: Interact warmly with residents, gathering feedback on menus to ensure high satisfaction.
Person Specification
Essential: Proven experience cooking home-made meals for groups in a commercial, care, or institutional kitchen
Desirable: Experience managing stock, ordering supplies, and catering to specific dietary needs
Skills & Knowledge
Essential: Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards; good communication skills

Personal Qualities
Essential: Passionate about delivering wholesome, quality home cooking; highly organised, punctual, and reliable; warm and empathetic personality
