Open to non-degree holders, this three-year apprenticeship programme provides you with the opportunity to learn as you earn and achieve a BSc (Hons) degree in Professional Policing Practice on successful completion. You’ll be employed as an officer from day one, making a difference to London’s communities while being fully supported in applying your learning practically on the Job. This programme will be delivered in partnership with four London universities (Brunel University London; the University of West London; Anglia Ruskin University; and the University of East London).Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) Degree holders (or students within the final year of study for a degree) can apply to our Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP). This two-year programme will provide degree holders (in any subject area) with the opportunity to learn as they earn and gain a fully-funded Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice on successful completion, while embarking on an interesting and rewarding career with the Met. Unlike more traditional qualifications, the DHEP entry route is a vocational programme that focuses on practical learning and is specifically tailored for a career in policing. You’ll learn how policing works in theory, so that when you encounter practical situations in real life, you’ll be prepared and know what to do. You’ll be employed as an officer from day one, making a difference to London’s communities, fully supported in applying your academic learning practically on the Job. This programme will be delivered in partnership with four London universities (Brunel University London; the University of West London; Anglia Ruskin University; and the University of East London).Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP) Open for a limited time period, our two year IPLDP route for non-degree holders provides new recruits with a blend of practical “on-the-job” experience and classroom based learning at one of our internal Met training sites. You will be employed as an officer from day one, making a difference to London’s communities, fully supported in applying your classroom learning practically on the job. Whilst this training programme won’t provide an accredited qualification– like our Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship Programme (PCDA) does - it follows a similar structure to all our training routes.
