About our PCDA/DHEP/Pre-Join (Professional Policing Degree Holder) Programmes You will be employed as a Police Officer from day one and receive a starting salary of £24,780. The Professional Policing Degree Holder programmes are based on the national curriculum for the Police Constable role. Therefore, applicants on these entry routes will have different lengths of training periods and some of the entry routes will enjoy a shorter ‘on-the-job’ training programme. The probation periods will vary for the different entry be two years and upon successful completion of this, you will be signed off as a fully competent Police Officer. Please note that if you have previously applied for the Police Officer entry route to any other Force and been unsuccessful at any stage of the process in the last 3 months you are not eligible to apply.
